We run (weather allowing) GSCALE (1:22.5 SCALE) model trains around the leader's garden railway in Somerton.

Most trains are steam outline and low voltage controlled. They puff, whistle and smoke and take around 1.5-2 minutes to complete the 165 feet circuit of the main running lines. We can also run real steam operated and battery powered locomotives.
If bad weather causes us to meet indoors we watch railway footage and discuss members model railway experiences Also discuss real steam vintage, narrow-gauge and mountain railways in this country and abroad with descriptive narrative, photos and DVDs.

We will be running trains on the garden railway layout with around 8 locomotives available (not all at once) and many carriages and goods wagons. The locomotives are electrically controlled but are all models of real steam train locos, mostly of Swiss origin, with steam sound and some with smoke. The scale is 1:22.5 with track gauge 45mm, representing one metre scale narrow gauge.
